The Friends of the Library work to focus public attention on the library; stimulate use of library resources and services; and receive and encourage library gifts, endowments, and bequests. The Friends of the Library sponsors the Rouses Point Farmer's Market and staff a book sale table at the market held on the Library lawn during the summer months. Other activities sponsored by the Friends of the Library include: funding the Take A Bite Out of Books school literacy program; sponsoring local author talks and appearances; organizing the annual Easter Egg Hunt for pre-school and elementary children; staffing a large book sale in June; and cooperate with the Library Board of Trustees and staff to develop services, programs and facilities for the Rouses Point community.
